On
the eve of a new millenium, doing business on a global scale has become
increasingly important, and Mexican businesses have become major players.
The "Comarca Lagunera", a region located in Mexico between the states
of Coahuila and Durango, is an urban area of 3 interconnected cities:
Torreon, Gomez Palacio and Lerdo. The Comarca is the largest milk producing
region of Mexico and it has drawn national attention recently thanks to
its fast growing industrial and agricultural base. Simply known as "La
Laguna", this region offers the right combination of geographical location
and industrial infrastructure.
"La
Laguna" boasts world class hotels, reknown universities, great museums
and cultural centers as well as large shopping malls, a modern railway
system, an international airport and a highway network along with vast
expanses of green vegetation. It also includes many industrial parks with
all the modern facilities and services that today's industry demands.
Las Americas industrial park is located on the Eastside, next to highways
with access to all major national and international destinations, provides
many support services such as a natural gas terminal, and 24-hour security.
